The Wangari brand is driven by purpose to merge social needs with the fashion scene. Each collection is linked to a collaboration with a small nonprofit organization, to raise awareness and fundings of a specific project.

"It’s up to our generation to make a difference!"

During the creation of our first collection “Critically Endangered”, we teamed up with the Swedish nonprofit organization Wildhood Foundation. Wangari donates 30 000 SEK (approx. 3 500 USD) to support their anti-poaching program of protecting threatened species in Africa. Meet the founder Filippa Tarras-Wahlberg, and her inspiring unwillingness to give up the fight for a better future.

“I have always been in love with wild animals and the amazing places where they live. A magic world where humans are only visitors! The growing threat against our wildlife today, and the fact that many of our most iconic species might be gone within our lifetime, made me realize it’s time to act. It’s up to our generation to make a difference!"

"I simply refuse to live in a world where elephants, rhinos, lions, pangolins, great apes and giraffes no longer exist in the wild."

"Out from a dream, and the idea that everything is possible, I started Wildhood Foundation. A small charity with big dreams and one goal – to protect and save threatened species from extinction while there is still a chance. I simply refuse to live in a world where elephants, rhinos, lions, pangolins, great apes and giraffes no longer exist in the wild. No one can do everything, but I believe everyone can do something and together we can make this world a happier place for all lives!”

Wildhood Foundation was founded in 2016 as a reaction to the escalating poaching crises targeting wild animals in Africa and Indonesia. The last decade’s strong economic growth in Asia has led to a rising demand for parts of wild animals, for the purpose of use in traditional medicine and as status symbols. Wildlife trafficking is considered to be one of the world’s largest criminal businesses today worth billions of dollars every year, pushing many species towards extinction.

Wildhood works to prevent poaching and wildlife trafficking with the goal to save our threatened species from extinction in their natural habitats. 100 % of all funds that Wildhood raise goes straight to support anti-poaching operations that physically protects the animals in some of the most targeted areas. They are true wildlife heroes, out there saving lives every day, and they need our support!

"No one can do everything but I believe everyone can do something and together we can make this world a happier place for all lives!"
